Board Effectiveness Reviews – box ticking or essential exercise?

Join us online for our first At the Fireside event.

The way we look at how Boards perform is changing, and it's changing for the better. Board members now face new demands and expectations, and the focus is shifting towards how they’re making decisions in the face of things like technology changes, climate concerns, and the greater good of society.

Is your Board facing real challenges about whether it's equipped to meet the expectations of investors and society at large? If it is, then your best bet is to carry out a Board Effectiveness Review. In fact, you might not have a choice if your relevant governance code demands it.

*GASP*

We know. It’s quite difficult persuading your Board to agree to take part in such an evaluation process or see its value. It’s a process that’s often seen as a box ticking exercise that holds no real impact.

And that’s why we’re inviting you to join Kerry Round, Founder and Director of Round Governance Services and Dr Lynne Sedgmore CBE, Chair of Glastonbury Town Deal Board.

We’re going live on Wednesday 6 September to chat about why Lynne recognised Glastonbury Town Deal needed to conduct a BER, how she encouraged other Board members that it was the right thing to do to secure the town’s future, and the benefits she’s experienced since going through the process with RGS.

We hope you’ll join us.
